I didn't get to see Mika or the twins the other day because, firstly, I was too busy, and secondly, as I've just heard about, there was some kind of other thing going on. Which I was fine with, 'cause Saki's got a whole bunch of stuff - can you believe, she'll be nine this year? It's really unbelievable. It feels like yesterday that she was making chocolate chip cookies for Kumagoro, destroying the kitchen in the process.... Oh right that WAS yesterday. Damn kids, you gotta love 'em no matter what they do. Mika, I hope you're ready for it, 'cause those twins are going to be a handful when they're older. [Not that Saki's all grown up, but~ huh.]

I was thinking of getting a cat. Some kind of ... well, animal, to feel more homey. I didn't have on before 'cause the ex's allergic, and Saki was a bit young. But, a cat would be nice, or maybe a dog. A dog's a bit much though. Can you imagine something so hyper it needed all of your attention 100 percent of the time, doing outrageous things just to be noticed? I'm not sure I'm ready to have that type of ongoing situation yet, so I think a cat or maybe a fish, but fish are boring. So a cat then. Hmm. One of those tan and brown ones? The kind that likes to sleep all day in the window? Sounds good.

Alright.

So.

Valentine's Day, right?

Yeah. Busted.

Here's what happened:

I woke up about eight o'clock, really anxious, considering that it was Valentine's Day, and didn't have anything planned [except my annual fern gifts! Those are always appreciated!!] So my sweet darling girl came in and gave me a cake she baked all herself! It was sooooo pretty, it was strawberry and had vanilla frosting! We ate it together and decided that we didn't need no stinkin' valentines!

...Then...the ex' called. I hung up on him, exhaling sharply as I did. Stupid men! They never learn!

Of course, it could be that he is just stupider than normal. Hmmm.

Anyway, I had a pretty cozy rest of the day, I basically meandered around in my pajamas all day, and played a bit on the keyboards... god, I need to practice more! But I found a cool little tune, and I hope it'll go over well with the rest when I see them next!

However, Yuki did threaten to break the next fern I brought over my head. Ouch. Eh, I'm sure Shuichi liked it!!

I am so sorry, poor neglected journal! I can't believe I haven't been around to update in so long! I've had so much to say, and yet, I've been so excited and busy, I haven't had time to say it.

I do want to say, first and foremost! Congratulations, Saki!, she got an A+ on her last essay she wrote for class. She made me help her, drag her to the library and such to do research on Optical Illusions, for Science Project Day or something like that. Oh! We got to look at these cool books with things that looked like they moved but didn't and it was so neat! Saki did an excellent job at it! [She actually read the whole pyschology book that we borrowed from the library. Saki was telling me about schizophrenia and stuff, and she's just soooooooo smart. I love her so much! <3]

Anyway, I've had a great time going in and out of relationships lately. I had dinner with that one guy, Alex, and we kinda hit it off. Of course, we all know about Shuichi, Yuki, Alex and I's little double date to the circus, don't we? [It was this super cool adult circus with all these acrobats and contortionists. We had to dress up and do mime makeup and seeing Yuki in black latex, white face makeup, and some garters was absolutely hilarious! Of course, Shuichi didn't get most of the jokes the clowns made, but Alex and I giggled along the entire time.] So, I'm dating Alex. Have been since the circus dealy, when we said we'd see how it went. And right now, man, it goes. But enough about these silly love songs...

I cannot wait to start up work again. I've been playing keyboards lately in the kitchen out of boredom. Saki's been driven absolutely nuts by it, but I can't help it. I need to ... play. I need to do something soon. Ryuichi, Tohma, please tell me you also have ideas? I don't want to be left in the dark like last time [which I will get you for, both of you]. Let's meet up sometime soon to discuss work, please please please please?

Oh, and Mika, let's have lunch next Tuesday? I think Schuichi's sister, Maiko, can watch the twins if need be. They're getting so old so quickly! I can hardly believe it!

-Noriko

I've just had the most horrible week. First, the apartment people said that my plumbing's gone bad and they're going to have to replace everything in the kitchen and bathroom, because of that horrible leak that sprung last Thursday. Then, Saki's father called about taking her to some amusement park, and grudgingly, I let her go. Tetsuya's new wife was there, and she babied Saki the entire time. Says that she'd like to adopt Saki into a "more stable home enviornment". I'm just dandy with my living arrangment, thank you very much, bitch. That was Tuesday. Yesterday, just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I had to visit the laundromat to wash our clothes, and there were these potheads that tried to coerce me into giving them sex or money. The outrage! I came home to find my whites slightly pink and a ratty-looking pink plushie of some kind. Ryuichi called asking if anyone had seen his Kuma-chan - someone stole Kuma-chan! Kuma-chan! The most famous of all plushies! Then, Saki came down with a bad chest cold.

All in time for my birthday tomorrow.

... *Sigh* Happy birthday, Noriko, let's see what other surprise we can do to really screw you over.

Saki was insistent that we go down to the local children's store at midnight for harry Potter. I was glad to see most of the adults looked as confused and grumpy as I was, though Saki looked out of place, most of the children had ridiculous costumes on. I don't know, I'll never be able to understand fans. Then, Saki made me read the whole thing to her, aloud [she likes when I do voices, the advantages of being an alto - lots of range]. We didn't get any sleep at all! I was so tired! I do have to say, it was a fun kids' read. Much more preferable than something like... oh, what are they called? Ghost...bumps? Goosebumps? Whatever. Stupid kids' stories.

I had a lovely time for the twins' birthday at Disneyworld. Went on all the rides, loved the roller coasters... Saki didn't appreciate them as much as I did, though. She did, however, want to get her picture with every Mickey Mouse, Bell, Little Mermaid and Mulan that we came across. After awhile, I suspected it was the same person inside the suite every single time - I asked him as much and he snugged me closer. What a jerk! So I pulled Saki away and left in a huff. Kinda reminded me of Yuki's younger brother, actually. Mika didn't look too happy when I made her ride on some of the roller coasters with me... I guess I'm the only one that likes them. Meh. At least they're better than Tohma manning the tea cups.

Speaking of, I'm not sure Yuki quite enjoyed himself at Disneyworld... I remember seeing him trying to distance himself from Ryuichi in line...

Oh! Ryuichi made me go on "Mr Toad's Wild Ride" or some such thing, and it had a hell! Quite scary for little kids - shame on you, Mr. Disney!

Well, the important thing is that the kids enjoyed it. Parents, shmarents. Right, Mika?

Somehow, every thing got screwed up. I had so wanted to make this a great party, but like most things in life, it ended in disaster. Firstly, though Mika and I laughed about it later, the invitations got messed around with. The party was going to be at my place, but it got moved to Mika's. Okay. Then Saki started throwing a fit when she couldn't bring her CD player to the party and be social (she's in her "I'm 7-almost-8 going on 16" mode). So. We arrived, frazzled, but alright. Dinner went as smoothly as possible, since Maiko, Hiro, Tohma's cousin (what is his name?), and Ayaka showed up. Unexpectedly. Mika thinks that Shuichi got the invitations wrong, he thought it was Nittle Grasper, plus Bad Luck, plus dates. What a mess! Then, Ryuichi was trying to be nice to Saki, and all she did was say "I'm too old for that stuff, Ryuichi-sama" The girl! Poor Ryuichi, he seemed quite upset. I think I'm going to go over to his house later today, and make Saki apologize, and have her bake cookies or somesuch. Anyway, then, one of the twins (I can never tell them apart!) crawled out. Eiri picked the baby up and got to him/her before they fell but. . . Eiri fell instead. I laughed, but I shut up when Mika glared at me. Oh, it was horrible!

Point being, Eiri's now in the hospital, and as grouchy as ever.

Mika and I arranged the party. She'll be the one doing invitations, and, since it'll be at my place, I'm doing decorating and such. Ah. I can't wait!

Saki bugged me again. I told her that she could go with me to NG between lunch with Mika and the party. . . so I took her. I didn't really expect anyone to be there, but as it happened. . .

There.

He stood.

Not K, of course, (thank god!) but Yuki. He was standing there, apparently flirting with a secretary, when Saki saw him (she saw him first, actually).

"Mama, who's that?" She asked, tugging at my hand. I sighed, rubbing my forehead.

"No one. That's Yuki Eiri. He's a writer." I replied, hoping she'd be content with the answer.

"Oooh, is that why he looks so .. mean? Is he the one that's with Cousin Shuichi? Is he the one who was engaged to that one girl? The pretty one? Does he know Cousin Maiko? Is he Aunt Mika's brother? Is he Tohma's friend? Does he like Kumagoro? I--"

"No. Yes. Yes. Yes. . . Saki. Don't bother me with questions."

"I'll ask him then."

"No--"

But it was too late. She slipped out of my hand and ran over to Yuki, standing inbetween him and his game, arms behind her back, smiling at him.

"You don't look very happy. Mommy says it's because you're a writer. My mommy is Noriko. Won't you talk with her and me? I can show you where Ryuichi keeps crayons for me to draw with! I can draw a picture of you while you talk with Mommy."

He replied something to the effect of "You must get your annoying talk from your mother," and was dragged off by Saki.

By this time, I was more than a little embaressed. I took Saki away from Yuki.

"Sorry about that, Yuki. Just. . . is that your way of socializing?! Flirting?!"

I don't know. I had to say it.

"What you need is. . . is. . . some introduction! Some kind of. . . something! You can't say flirting is socializing! It's --- Saki, come with me."

We decided what to do was call up Ryuichi. He's the best at getting cold people to warm up. I "guarded the door" as Yuki called it, and Yuki drew with Saki and Ryuichi. It was a good experiance for all the children there, Yuki included.

Yuki, Saki is a better artist than you.
Just got off the phone with Mika. Aww, she's such a lovely woman. We'll be having lunch in --- oops. A few minutes. I'll jsut make this really quick then. Mika and I are going to plan Tohma's birthday party.

I was thinking of inviting Nittle Grasper (and husbands, wives, children, Kumagoro's...). Maybe Yuki as well, since Tohma and he have known each other for so long.

Saki's mad at me because I told she can't spend all of her time with me at NG. I don't know, those children! They want you to be around and then not and they hate going to work with you and then don't want to leave. What troublesome indecisive--ergh. Going.

Urgh, may I say, just for once (you know I never complain!), that I absolutely HATE paperwork? It's been exauhsting to finish it all, and there's only so many times you can sign your name. Tetsuya has been off-ed. Saki remains here. But not without TONS of work! It's gotten so bad, I can't even distinguish between things anymore. I'm sick of signing papers, filling out forms. As well as the snide remarks from Tetsuya's family; apparently, I wasn't a good enough wife!

My nails are a pretty dark purple colour. It helps to make me try to do more of the signatures, but I can't stand it anymore!

Oh! And, Maiko! Greatest luck with that date of your's! Apparently, you two had a good time! Tohma's cousin, right? Eiji? Reji? Fuji? Fujisaki; that's it.

I'm baking cookies with Saki a little later. It'll be fun! We love to cook together!

I've just been dead these past few . . days . . weeks . . Long time, in any case.

So, the divorce is going through, Tetsuya and I are now going to be offically split. I've tried to keep Saki out of it as much as possible (again, thank you Maiko-chan for helping!), but sometimes it's rather daunting to try to keep a kid from knowing too much. Such as, when Tetsuya calls and Saki answers the phone. Grawr.

Anyway, gotta water plants and feed children.

...Or child.

Saki's playing right now at a friend's house. What was the girl's name? Rei? Sakura? Vickie?
I think it was Vickie, her parents are American.

Mika, I would love to visit Miyuki and Tomajiro sometime tomorrow? And Saki should be with me, as she has a dentist appointment.

Ai. Some tea would be good. I'm going to go make some. Yes, and then pick up Saki. . . and perhaps stop to buy some food.
